Privacy policy

Who we are

This website is operated by Britemind Oy, a company registered in Finland, which is the data controller for what is described below.

What we collect

The only personal data we ask you for is your email address, when you subscribe to the newsletter, The Untaught Part. We do not ask for your name or anything else.

Separately, we use Umami, a self-hosted analytics tool, to count page views and see where visitors come from. It is cookieless, does not track you across other sites, and cannot identify you individually. Our web server also keeps anonymised access logs, with the last part of each IP address removed, for troubleshooting.

Why we collect it

We use your email address to send you the newsletter. We do not use it for anything else, and we do not sell or share it.

Legal basis

We process your email address on the basis of your consent. When you subscribe we send a confirmation email, and you are only added to the list once you click the link in it. You can withdraw consent at any time by unsubscribing.

Who processes it

The newsletter is sent through Buttondown, which stores your email address and delivers our emails on our behalf as a data processor. See Buttondown's privacy policy. Your address may be stored on servers outside Finland and the European Economic Area.

The “Book a call” buttons on this site lead to cal.eu, a separate booking service with its own privacy policy. We do not pass anything to it when you click.

How long we keep it

We keep your email address for as long as you stay subscribed. If you unsubscribe, it is removed from our active list. You can also ask us to delete it permanently at any time.

Your rights

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Rectify data that is inaccurate.
• Erase your data.
• Restrict how we process it.
• Receive it in a portable, machine-readable format.
• Withdraw consent at any time, using the unsubscribe link at the bottom of every email.

To use any of these rights, email info@britemind.io and we will reply within 30 days. You also have the right to complain to the Finnish Data Protection Ombudsman (tietosuoja.fi).

Changes

If we change this policy in a material way, we will update the date at the top of this page.
